Share the Power of Coding with Your Students!

October 15, 2013

Had to share this really awesome opportunity, Code.org has just announced its ” Hour of Code”, a great event aimed at sharing the power of coding and computer science with students everywhere. This unique event will take place during “Computer Science Education Week”, a yearly celebration of computer science and the birth of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper.

Not a coder? No problem!  It’s a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code” and show that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, a creator, an innovator. Code.org will provide a variety of self-guided tutorials that anybody can complete, with just a web-browser, tablet, or smartphone. They even have unplugged tutorials for classrooms without computers.

As an edtech company, focused on scaling the impact of teachers everywhere, we know first hand the power of computer science! The “Hour of Code” could unlock a whole world of opportunities for you and your students.

Not excited yet? Chris Bosh, Will.i.am and Mark Zuckerberg might change your mind!

Happy Coding!
