CC.BetterLesson can help make the Common Core your Valentine!

OK, that might sound a little weird.

We have some fun, dare we say, romantic lessons to help you court the Common Core.

When you’re interested in someone, your heart rate goes up when you meet.

Master Teacher Andrea Palmer’s Grade 6 Math lesson “Heart Rate” will help you determine your ideal heart rate. It’s aligned to Common Core standards 6.RP.A.3, 6.RP.A.3d and Math Practice standards 2-6.

If you haven’t met someone you’re interested in, you might consider going speed dating. In Master Teacher Tiffany Dawdy’s Grade 12 Math lesson “Speed Dating With Logarithms”, you can take part in an exercise where you solve exponential and logarithmic equations with your ‘date’.

The exercise is aligned with Common Core standards HSA-CED.A.1, HSF-LE.A.4 and Math Practice standards 1-3.

If you’re like me, and you like Valentines Day because of the candy – we’ve got a lesson for that too. Check out Master Teacher Malissa Thomas St. Clair’s Grade 7 Math lesson “Proportional Candy Gate”. You’ll learn how to determine who has the most candy by completing tables to recognize proportional differences. Malissa’s lesson is aligned to Common Core standards 7.RP.A.2, 7.RP.A.2a and Math Practice standards 1-4 and 6-8.

We love the Common Core! We hope to continue to be your Common Core Cupid.

XOXO
